My Understanding About- History Of Cricket

Sports are of great importance. Not only physically, but also economically. In many European countries and in India too, cricket is a famous sport. The cricket we play now is very different from the cricket played in the past.
Cricket was first played in in England. It evolved from stick and ball games played during that time. As the game started becoming famous in the European countries, laws were slowly made. The first laws of cricket were written in 1744. Even clubs started forming in the European countries. The first club was the formed in Hambledon in the 1760's.In 1787 Marylebone Cricket Club was founded and it published the first revision of laws, becoming the guardian of cricket regulations. Overtime, protective gear were also made necessary.
When the British Empire started expanding, the game of cricket started spreading. However the Britishers thought that others shouldn't play the game. Even the first non-white club in West Indies was for light colored mulattos. Eventually the West Indies people started coming out and played matches against the Britishers. Learie Constantine is one of the best cricketers of the West Indies. In India, cricket was played based on race and religion. The first cricketers from India were the Parsis. Even though the separate groups played together, many people disliked the division created because of religion and race. After many years, the Indian cricketers played together and the divisions were gone.
Cricket is famous all over the world thanks to media. Now people around the globe can see cricket matches and imitate their heroes. Over the years, cricket has finally changed from a stick and ball game, to a professional career which has changed histories of many countries.
